Lost Creek Bluebird is very pleased and excited to announce our Veteran Services have expanded.  We have always been intent and honored on affording whatever support we can to our disabled veterans and their families.  Fellowship General Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff has partnered with us in that support.  Under this partnership, disabled veterans and their families will be able to utilize the Bed & Breakfast service at a nominal fee.  The other facility services will endeavor to provide affordable activities as requested.

In addition, Lost Creek Bluebird is expanding special event prices and Bed & Breakfast service at special rates for all veterans.  The only requirement will be proof of service to any branch of service, including National Guard, Reserve, and Coast Guard.  Dependent spouses are included whether married or widowed.

The young man working with the Disabled Services is, himself, a disabled veteran.  He served in Iraq at the age of 19.  He well knows the needs and what helps.

Lost Creek Bluebird’s owner is a Surviving Dependent Spouse.  Her husband died early from the effects of Agent Orange.  He not only volunteered for the draft at the age of 28, joined the National Guard, with duty in Desert Shield/Desert Storm at age 50, and retired out of the Army National Guard.  Art’s family knows well the sacrifices of a serviceman’s/woman’s life and their family.  Kindnesses and acknowledgement of the gift of service to this wonderful democracy we enjoy is small in comparison!  These individuals served, gave their life (in war or as a result of serving), accepted resulting life challenges and often took time from a career to make sure the rest of us continued to enjoy the “hum” of our everyday lives.  The least Lost Creek Bluebird can do is share the joy and peace of our location.

Lost Creek Bluebird will also offer free accommodation for monthly/quarterly meetings of any veteran’s groups with free coffee and tea with refreshments.  Fliers will soon be developed to share with interested parties.
