Have you heard of fascia?  It seems to be getting attention.  Or, maybe it is where I am focused, and I see it as a common topic.  Fascia is all the connective tissue in our body.  It is throughout our body in layers between muscles, skin, bones, and even supporting our organs.  There is much to learn.  Fascia tissue is deep in our bodies supporting our organs and helping them maintain separateness for each other.  This connective tissue helps hold our skeletal system together.  Fascia surrounds every muscle for strength and movement.

Our bodies are such MIRACLES!  This connective tissue wrapped around each muscle, provides the lubrication needed to move easily against the next muscle.  When we experience injury or we are inactive, out facia thickens cutting down on flexibility, gives us the feeling of stiff muscles (because they are).  With the deterioration comes aches and pains, and dysfunction.

I have learned Yin Yoga and Restorative Yoga can support strengthening and, in most cases, restore functionality of this connective tissue.  Scientists are so critical to our education.  I want to know as much about how my body operates as possible.  Stretching and moving without pain increases my JOY.
