“If you want a rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain.” – Dolly Parton
“Life is a flower of which love is the honey.” – Victor Hugo
“Life is what we make it, always has been, always will be.” – Grandma Moses
Does your physical or your spiritual viewpoint guide you most days? How do we know? We are spiritual beings held to the earth by our physical bodies. A spiritual person might tend to neglect their physical body needs, whereas a person focused on the fleshly needs will neglect their spiritual needs. Needs, needs, needs!!!!! Don’t get stressed over this . . . everyone one neglects one or the other at different times in a lifetime. Think of it: life has peaks and valleys. We have no control when our physical or spiritual is called upon to respond. Life is life!
I have a deep relationship with my God. (He isn’t just mine, but I call Him mine. Warms my spiritual being.) I grew up in a home with some intense mental illness issues. I have felt God gave me an awareness of “Joy” from birth. Born smiling, (must have been smiling when my spirit came from the heavens and was still there on my birth into this world) I continued to look for joy throughout my childhood in the fields, creek, and forests around me. I always did. It was a respite for gentle breathing, smelling flowers, hearing the breeze in the pine trees and looking at the wonders out there. Never felt in danger; always felt safe.
I had some sense of my physical needs, but more shame than healthy appreciation. My adult years, through education and my mental health experience, helped moved me to care for my physical being through nurturing foods and appropriate exercise and a cleanliness routine.
I am sharing a positive link about a relationship with God. This might be helpful to some. If it doesn’t work for you, please just ignore. This is a personal appreciation.
Guard your Joy!
